Type and process parameters
Smooth Mask and Coarse Mask
Glossy Mask: The surface is flat and suitable for conventional anti-seepage projects (such as landfills).
Rough mask: Thickness ≥1.0mm, surface concave and convex increase friction, used in steep slopes or high anti-slip demand scenarios.
Composite geomembrane
Types: one cloth, one film, two cloth, one film, two cloth, two cloth, two films, etc., width 1m-8m.
Grg weight: Customized according to the number of composite layers and fabric density (such as 300g/m² – 1500g/m²).
Production process
HDPE geomembrane adopts blow molding or calendering process, and LLDPE film is more flexible but has a slightly lower strength.
Application areas
Environmental and environmental protection engineering
Landfill: Used to prevent seepage layers at the bottom, side walls and top of the field to isolate harmful substances (such as heavy metals, chemical pollutants) in the garbage leachate and prevent groundwater pollution.
Sewage treatment facilities: Paved in sewage treatment tanks, regulation tanks and sludge tanks to prevent sewage leakage and improve the operating efficiency and life of the facility.
Industrial pollution prevention and control: Cover polluted areas (such as chemical plants, hospital solid waste sites), isolate the spread of harmful substances, and protect soil and water sources.
Water Conservancy and Flood Control Projects
Reservoir/Elevation Anti-seepage: As a horizontal anti-seepage layer, it reduces water permeability loss and improves water storage stability (such as HDPE membranes are used in rivers, lakes and reservoirs).
Cannel/Artificial Lake Engineering: Used for irrigation channels and artificial lake base lining to prevent water resources (LDPE film is suitable for low-load scenarios).
Drainage and flood control system: Combined with composite geomembrane to enhance drainage capacity and reduce the risk of flood erosion.
Municipal and transportation infrastructure
Underground engineering anti-seepage: applied to subway tunnels and underground garage roofs to block groundwater seepage and prevent structural corrosion.
Road reinforcement: used for the anti-seepage layer of the highway foundation, reduces the softening of the base layer caused by rainwater seepage, and extends the life of the road surface.
Roof Greening: As a waterproof layer, it supports roof garden vegetation, taking into account both anti-seepage and ecological functions.
Mining and chemical engineering
Taissel anti-seepage: prevent acidic solutions and heavy metals from entering the underground in the mine tailings and reduce the risk of environmental pollution.
Heap Leaching Pool/Oil Storage Facilities: As a lining material, it prevents chemical leaching liquid or oil leakage (such as HDPE films withstand acid and alkali corrosion).
Petrochemical storage tank protection: used for anti-seepage layer on the ground of the storage tank area to block oil and waste from penetrating the soil.
Agriculture and ecological restoration
Aquaculture: HDPE film is laid at the bottom of shrimp ponds and fish ponds to maintain water quality and reduce soil erosion.
Irrigation system: anti-seepage of reservoirs and wells, improving agricultural water efficiency.
Salt Field/Desert Control: Salt Field Crystal Pond Anti-seepage and Desert Sand Fixation Layer Construction, Assisting Ecological Restoration.
Other special scenes
Power plant ash dam project: Enhance the anti-seepage performance of ash slag accumulation area and reduce environmental risks.
Emergency flood prevention project: Quickly lay at the dam breach to prevent flood seepage.
Geofilm is adapted to diverse scenario needs through material selection (such as high tensile resistance of HDPE and high flexibility of LDPE) and process optimization (composite structure enhances puncture resistance), taking into account engineering safety and environmental sustainability.
Construction process
Preparation before construction
Site cleaning and grassroots processing
Remove debris (gravel, tree roots, etc.) in the construction area to ensure that the base is dry, flat and compaction meets the design requirements. The yin and yang corners need to be polished and smooth and the arc transition is set.
Refill or reinforce the weak foundation, and lay a sand and gravel cushion (thickness 20-30mm) as the protective layer if necessary.
Materials and Equipment Inspection
Check the appearance quality (no damage, holes) and performance indicators (tensile strength, elongation, etc.) of the geomembrane to ensure compliance with the national standard requirements.
Prepare tools such as welding machines, U-shaped nails, anchor piles, etc., and calibrate equipment parameters (such as temperature and speed).
Geo-membrane laying
Laying direction and overlap
Extend from the bottom to the high position, leaving a 1.5% slack residual to adapt to settlement; the slope laying direction is parallel to the maximum slope line, and the order of "slope first and then the bottom" is preferred.
The width of longitudinal overlap is ≥10cm, and the horizontal overlap is staggered by more than 1m. The joints should avoid stress concentration areas such as bent feet and dam feet.
Fixation and Adjustment
Use U-shaped nails or hook-shaped rivet piles to fix the edge of the membrane material (spacing ≤1m), and the anchoring depth of the slope top and slope foot is ≥60cm.
Manually adjust the flatness of the film surface to avoid wrinkles or bubbles. Construction during high-temperature periods can reduce shrinkage stress.
Welding and seam treatment
Welding process
A dual-track hot melt welding machine is preferred (temperature control 240-280℃), and special areas are repaired by extrusion welding.
Clean the joints before welding, keep the welding speed 1.5-2m/min, and the welds must be uniform, continuous, and no leakage.
Quality Test
After the weld is cooled, the airtightness is checked by the inflation method (pressure 0.2MPa, keeping it for 5 minutes without dropping) or an electric spark detector.
The damaged areas are covered with patches of the same material (size ≥ 20cm of the damaged edge), and re-inspected after repair.
Backfill and protection
Hydraft backfill control
Fill symmetrically according to "first both sides and then middle", the filler particle size is ≤15cm and the discharge height is ≤1m to avoid direct mechanical crushing of the exposed film surface.
The thickness of each layer is ≤30cm, the rolling sequence is: static pressure 2 times → vibration compaction, compaction degree ≥ design requirements.
Ecological Protection
Cover the slope with planting soil and sow grass seeds, and set up longitudinal drainage ditches (4m spacing) to prevent erosion.
After filling, the edge of the membrane is secondary anchored to ensure close integration with the structure (such as waterproof wall).
Acceptance and precautions
Acceptance standards
Check the weld airtightness, anchoring strength and overall flatness (Error ≤15mm), and can be concealed only after acceptance.
Construction Taboos
Avoid rainy days or low temperature (<5℃) construction, and the ultraviolet exposure time of exposed film materials is ≤48 hours.
It is prohibited to wear hard soles and step on the pedal surface of the film. The transportation process prevents puncture caused by dragging and pulling.
